Texas Land Commissioner and Veterans Land Board Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D., is encouraging Texas veterans to register for Zoom at Noon, the VLB’s virtual benefits presentation offered two Thursdays a month, according to an Aug. 12 news release from the Texas General Land Office.
The sessions are designed to walk veterans through the state benefits available to them, according to the release, including the VLB’s home and land loan programs, exclusive access to veterans-only land sales, Texas State Veterans Homes and Cemeteries, and the agency’s Voices of Veterans program.
Veterans can register through the GLO’s events page and choose the Thursday that best fits their schedule, the agency said. Questions about benefits can also be directed to the Texas Veterans Call Center at 1-800-252-8387.
The General Land Office has offered benefits to Texas veterans since 1836, according to the release, and the agency said Texas today honors veterans through the VLB with more benefits than any other state.
The twice-monthly virtual format is intended to make it easier for veterans across the state to learn about the benefits they have earned without leaving home.
