The Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) reported statewide crude oil and natural gas production figures for July 2026, drawn from 154,978 oil wells and 82,624 gas wells, according to an Oct. 1 agency news release.
Preliminary reported crude oil production totaled 121,422,846 barrels for the month, the agency said, an average of 3,916,866 barrels per day. Preliminary natural gas production totaled 1,088,748,316 mcf, or thousand cubic feet, averaging 35,120,913 mcf per day.
The release also ranked the top producing counties. For crude oil, Martin County led with 19,833,432 barrels, followed by Midland County with 18,418,690 barrels and Upton County with 8,299,670 barrels. For total gas, Webb County topped the list at 101,622,477 mcf, followed by Reeves County at 97,957,095 mcf and Midland County at 86,799,767 mcf.
In condensate production, Reeves County reported 7,775,588 barrels, Loving County reported 5,020,907 barrels and Culberson County reported 3,044,066 barrels, according to the release.
The RRC noted that the figures are preliminary and subject to revision as late and corrected reports are received. The agency also clarified that its crude oil totals exclude condensate, which is reported separately.
The monthly statistics are part of the commission’s regular reporting on activity in the state’s oil and gas fields.
