Texas oil and gas operators increased production in March compared to the previous year. According to preliminary production statistics released by the Railroad Commission of Texas on June 4, the state’s total oil production reached 124.9M barrels for the month of March.
The commission said the monthly total includes 111.4M barrels of crude oil and 13.5M barrels of condensate. The state also produced 884.2B cubic feet of gas, which combines 705.5B cubic feet of gas well gas and 178.6B cubic feet of casinghead gas.
These initial monthly counts will rise as operators submit updated drilling reports over the next several months.
According to commission records, the updated final total for March 2025 stands at 144.5M barrels of oil and 1.03T cubic feet of gas.
The leading counties for crude oil production during the month were Midland, Martin, Upton, Loving, and Reeves, highlighting the ongoing energy output within the Permian Basin region.
