The Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division rescued six victims following a human trafficking sting operation in Bexar County, according to a DPS news release.
According to the release, special agents executed search warrants on Oct. 22 at three suspected illicit massage businesses operating in the Live Oak and Universal City areas. DPS said investigators believe the businesses are engaging in unlawful activity and exhibiting multiple indicators consistent with human trafficking.
After the warrants were executed, agents identified and rescued six adult female victims, whose ages range from the late 30s to the 50s, the department said. No arrests have been made at this time, according to the release.
The investigations into the suspected businesses are continuing, and DPS said no additional information is available.
The department urged members of the public with information about the suspected illicit massage businesses in Bexar County, or about potential human trafficking activity anywhere in Texas, to come forward.
