Gov. Greg Abbott marked the launch of full production trading on the Texas Stock Exchange on July 31, declaring it a historic day for the state in a statement released by his office.
“On this historic day, Texas asserts its place as the financial capital of America,” Abbott said in the statement. “The Texas Stock Exchange now operates at full capacity and projects the economic strength of Texas across the nation and the world. This state-of-the-art platform affirms Texas’ leadership in free enterprise and capital markets. We will make Texas stronger and more prosperous than ever before.”
The Dallas-based exchange, known as TXSE, is the first and only fully integrated national securities exchange built, headquartered and incorporated in Texas, according to the governor’s office. It received approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Sept. 30, 2025.
The exchange followed a phased rollout that began July 6 and was completed on schedule July 31, with all National Market System symbols now available to trade on the platform, the governor’s office said.
Abbott has championed the exchange since its announcement, according to the release. He celebrated its creation during a September 2024 press conference at the Governor’s Mansion and congratulated the exchange when it received SEC approval a year later. On July 6, as trading operations began, the governor welcomed the opening of the exchange and what his office described as the greater competition and opportunity it brings to American capital markets.
With the phased rollout now complete, the governor’s office said the fully operational exchange projects the state’s economic strength across the nation and the world as Texas continues to position itself as a national center for finance and free enterprise.
