Texas Comptroller Don Huffines has launched the first phase of his Taxpayer First Project transparency tools, unveiling a webpage that lets Texans track spending in the Texas Education Freedom Accounts program, according to an Oct. 29 news release from the Comptroller’s office.
The new site provides initial program metrics and will expand in the coming weeks into a full dashboard with searchable and visualized data, the agency said.
The webpage also includes a direct link to the Comptroller’s Law Enforcement Operations whistleblower portal, which the agency said enables Texans to report suspected fraud confidentially.
According to the release, the launch marks a key milestone in Huffines’ broader Taxpayer First Project, which the agency said is intended to strengthen transparency, enhance financial oversight and give Texans clear insight into how their tax dollars are being used.
The agency did not say in the release when the full dashboard would be available beyond the “coming weeks” timeline. Texans interested in the tool can find it through the Comptroller’s website.
