Texas General Land Office Announces Free Veterans Benefits Fair in Kerrville on Sept. 3

The Texas General Land Office and Veterans Land Board will host a free Veterans Benefits Fair in Kerrville on Sept. 3, offering claims help and benefits information.

The Texas General Land Office and Veterans Land Board will host a free Veterans Benefits Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Happy State Bank Expo Hall at the Hill Country Youth Center, 3785 TX-27 in Kerrville. The event will connect veterans and their families with benefits information, resources and enrollment assistance.

Land Commissioner and VLB Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham announced the event in an Aug. 27 news release.

The Veterans Land Board is hosting the fair alongside the Kerr County Veterans Service Office and the Texas Veterans Commission. State officials said the event will connect veterans and their families with information and assistance related to Veterans Land Board programs and services, Texas Veterans Commission programs, VA benefits and claims assistance, VA health care enrollment and education benefits.

Veterans seeking assistance with VA claims are advised to bring a copy of their DD214, according to the release.

Buckingham became the state’s first female land commissioner after winning statewide election in 2022. Her stated priorities as commissioner include serving Texas veterans.
