The body of Freddy Ferrer Bracamonte, 62, of Fort Worth, was recovered from Benbrook Lake shortly after 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 13, according to a news release from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Texas Game Wardens in Tarrant County responded around 6 p.m. Sunday, July 12, to a report of a possible water-related fatality after witnesses reported a man went underwater in a designated swimming area near Mustang Park and did not resurface, the department said.
Game wardens, along with personnel from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, searched the area Sunday evening before suspending operations overnight, according to the release. Search efforts resumed Monday morning with assistance from Tarrant County Fire and the Fort Worth Fire Department and Dive Team.
“Our thoughts are with Mr. Ferrer’s family and friends during this difficult time,” the department said in the release.
