The Texas Oil & Gas Association hosted its Lone Star Energy Forum on Oct. 28 and 29 in San Antonio, bringing together industry executives and state lawmakers and presenting its Distinguished Service Award to two industry figures, according to an Oct. 30 TXOGA news release.
The association, which describes itself as the state’s oldest and largest oil and natural gas trade association, said the forum featured industry leaders shaping state, national and global energy agendas and gave participants a chance to hear directly from them on economic, legislative and political perspectives within the Texas oil and natural gas industry.
“The Lone Star Energy Forum brings together leaders from every sector of our industry to focus on what comes next for Texas energy. At a time of global instability, Texas operators are supplying America and our allies with the energy resources modern life depends on. We thank the men and women of Texas’ energy industry who joined us in San Antonio this week,” said TXOGA President Todd Staples.
According to the release, former San Antonio Spurs player and NBA legend David Robinson joined Staples for a fireside chat on leadership in business and sports. The forum also featured Ezra Yacob, chairman and CEO of EOG Resources; Laura Lane, chief corporate affairs officer of Chevron; Travis Beltz, vice president of Marathon Petroleum’s Galveston Bay Refinery; and Todd Tanory, senior vice president of midstream operations at Phillips 66, along with state Sen. Pete Flores and state Rep. Cody Vasut.
Harold Hamm, founder and chairman emeritus of Continental Resources, and Tom Jorden, chairman of Devon Energy, received TXOGA’s Distinguished Service Awards at the forum, the association said. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the award, which TXOGA established in 1936.
“Each of these titans has demonstrated a commitment to propelling the industry forward, and their actions have made America more energy secure, providing abundant energy for all consumers,” Staples said of the recipients.
TXOGA said the forum was sponsored by Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Valero, Devon Energy, Ovintiv, Oxy, Repsol, Apex Natural Gas, BKV Energy, EOG Resources, Archrock, Citgo, Murphy Oil Corporation, Plains, Targa, Texas Mutual and Intersect.
