Bottom line

Bottom line

This version directs the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to maximize licensing reciprocity agreements for the licenses it issues, to the extent allowed by law, and to identify state laws that prevent such agreements. Its commission must adopt rules by January 1, 2026 for judging whether another state's requirements are substantially equivalent and for entering agreements, and the department must report to the governor and the Legislative Budget Board every odd-numbered year, starting December 1, 2027. The strongest rating is +1 Moderate on worker mobility (license portability), because the duty reaches every department license program. The recurring report rates +1 Small on sunset review and program evaluation.
